Free Holiday Handmade gift with every Order in my Shops for the Holidays

I have not written in here for a month or so. I wanted to touch base for a bit. I am still selling on Etsy and Ebay. I decided with the Etsy shops being they are more personal to me. The people seem to really enjoy buying from Etsy, so I am offering a free holiday gift for each buyer who orders from my shop. YES, Free. I am in the process of making these gifts but have to wait until tomorrow for finishing touches on them. I have 2 done. My first shop here is a shop in which I sell Vintage, jewelry, and home decor I painted.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/VickiesVintageroom.

I do also offer affordable prices.

This shop here is my main Etsy shop that I have been working with for 3 years. It also have Vintage, but much more jewelry, and hand crafted, hand painted items. Including Wall Crosses.

Etsy and Ebay hints to help with selling, September 2nd, 2015

I haven't wrote for a while so I am guessing it is time.

A new thing I have been doing on Etsy is that I go into my Listings manager and check to see which Items have had less than 5 views a month and feature them. The yellow star features them at the top of your page on page 1 of your shop. It will only show up 4 at a time of your featured items. I try to promote these the most daily and then when they get 5+ views, I unclick the featured star, and the next 4 will show up. This has been helping my items get noticed more and this past month I had many more sales. I do not know if I will continue to get more sales like that, but would be great if I did.

https://www.etsy.com/shop/streetcrossing, is shop # 1.

My second shop I do not have as many items, and it was my sons shop. He quit so I took it fully over for now.

Another think I have been doing is making a treasury a week on each name. One of the names I promote the people who are in contact with me a lot. The other name I do a treasury for mostly newer people who I do not know. I want to grow my followers on Etsy, and this is great way to do so. Well, everyone have a Blessed September.

Customer issues on Etsy and eBay

Throughout the time of 3 years that I have been selling online, for the most part, the customers are great. But, then there are the few that really cause problems. I always do the best I can to be honest and pack everything very well. I always give feedback through eBay if something sells on there. I write notes to every customer, or send a type written one to them, to thank them for buying from my shops. I always ask for feedback, but much of the time feedback is not left. But, I can't harass customers for it.

The last few months I have had a few items that broke, or someone claims that something was not as said. Yesterday, I receive a knife butcher block back in the mail with no warning from buyer. I sold this over a month ago, and had no clue the buyer was not happy and was sending it back. She claimed that it did not stand up.. I put it on the table and it was sitting as pictures showed and very well. She put a note in the box she wanted the money refunded. Well, hmmm. No emails, not letting me know that anything was wrong in her opinion, nothing for a month. My policies clearly state on Etsy that they are to let me know within 72 hours if there is a problem and they want refund. They have 2 weeks to return it to me. Nothing was said and this really disturbed me. Sorry, this is not the way to deal with a seller. I do not think anyone will be happy in that type of situation.

I had a customer 2 weeks ago, after selling some salt and pepper shakers, tell me that one of them was repaired and they wanted their money back, but wanted to keep the ducks. I told them, please send me a picture of what they were talking about and return the items. Then they will receive their refund. They decided to not do so and keep them, then left me good feedback for them as if nothing is wrong. This was on eBay. I could not tell if the customer was trying to pull a fast one on me, but I was wise to this happening.

About 2-3 months ago, a book I sold on Etsy got returned after shipping it to the customer a few months before. The tracking said it was left in the mailbox. I looked on Etsy and seen that the customer had never emailed to see where it was. What happened to this customer for them to never receive the item, maybe moved and forgot about it, was very strange. I would gladly send the book to their new address if they ever asked, but they never asked. Just so weird.

I had an item break that was working fine and dandy on the way to the person's house. The post office evidently threw the box around and it got broken. I refunded this customer because they sent me pictures of it broken. I then went onto USPS site and filed a complaint about a broken item and sent the pictures. They refunded me as well. So this is the right way to get a refund and to ask for a refund. Not sending it to me in a box and never letting me know anything was wrong for them, whether it was a lie or whatever. Not wanting to send pictures and refusing to send them back, this is cause for me to believe it is a lie and there will be no refund.

All in all, I love selling and reaching out to the customers that love my items. There have been some terrific buyers who leave great feedback. But, then there are those who are not right or do not do the right things when wanting money back for an item. Whether it is eBay or Etsy or some other avenues, there are always policies for refunding or returning the items. It is sad though, when you get the customers who are a bad apple, and almost make everyone a bad apple with them.

April 27, 2015, items for sale on Etsy.

I wanted to post on my blog here a few pictures of things I have been crafting and selling. My sales have improved a great deal. I plan on using what money comes in for sales will be used to update the house. We got to paint the eaves outside so that is what is our first on fixing the house. Then little by little we are going to be working on the bathroom and kitchen. I will do a little here and there as I go along. I am still trying to figure out one thing at a time to fix until the house will be done. Here are the pictures for sale. https://www.etsy.com/listing/228285984/white-floral-wall-cross-wood-shabby?ref=shop_home_active_19

April 16, 2015

I have not wrote in my blog for a month. I started last month painting frames shabby chic, and crosses I designed on my own. I have sold a few of them, and am hoping to sell more soon. I am not doing the painting now for a while because there is much more to do outside and will be planting flowers and working outside more.

The shops have sold a bit more, especially the Etsy shop. I have been listing more rustic, shabby, and primitive items in my shop.

https://www.etsy.com/shop/streetcrossing?ref=hdr_shop_menu

I am not planning on having a big shop, just something to fill up my time and make a small amount of money. I have so many health issues that I am no longer working.

Well done with the blog for now. Tata till later. Vickie

New Line of crafts for business

I have not wrote here for a while. So I decided it was time to do so tonight. This past month I started a new line of distressed, shabby, cottage chic wall crosses. I buy the wood unfinished crosses from another source. I do not have a set up to do my own wood carvings. I have then started with the painting of either chalk paint or acrylic. It is easier to paint if the edges are sanded first. Then I design them in a different way. I took a few days of designing before I did each one. So far, I have done 4 and sold 1 that was custom made. I found a shop on Etsy that does great work on their cross wood cuts. So I will  most likely be using them in the future.
Here is my latest creation.
https://www.etsy.com/listing/226422261/green-wooden-wall-cross-sea-shells?

On my Etsy page you will find other crosses I have done and you can ask for customization for your own. I will do the best to make one the way you wish.
I also have started to do the cottage/shabby look to frames, and other items that I find that would look good that way. So check out my Etsy Shop.

This is all for now. Till we meet again. Vickie

Feb. 19th, 2015

I haven't wrote in my business blog for a while. So today I thought I would write as to what I have been up to. I never wanted to paint much through the years. However, lately I realised that I have to start doing something different to sell that I worked on myself. I decided to start doing Shabby Cottage Chic items. It might be frames, pictures, crosses, etcc. I also am going to work on a Beach Cottage type decor too with stones, shells, etc.. I just have to figure out the things I plan on doing. I am saving up tin cans and have looked through tons of ideas, but I want my own., One that no one else has done. So then I will feel creative. I have been not working as a Nursing assistant for 5 years now, and sometimes I wish I could work again. But, physically it is too much for me now a days. Some days I have trouble walking, pain gets to me, sometimes my eyes are totally messed up from the glaucoma, but not all the time. It is hard to do what I want to do, but I keep going. I have to create right now because if I don't I will be too depressed all the time.

Well I got my first frame done in shabby cottage chic, and another frame is done but going to add shells to it for beach cottage decor. Thinking on the cross I will be starting next week, as to what I want to do to make it look different. Only time will tell. Well, time to hit the road. Until later, tata

January 19th, 2015

Happy New Year to all the folks who read my blog. I am sorry so late to tell you this. Just the New Year started out busy with new stuff to list for the business, and my son off to college for his second semester. He is not too happy about his speech class, but I am hoping he gets out of of his shyness in this so he can get a job in the future, easier. He loves his art class and is going to do well with it so far.

I started to work at trying to get healthier for the new years, and stopped drinking diet cola. Not an easy task to go cold turkey from right after Christmas until now, but so far so good.

I am thinking about doing primitive home decor for a new idea for this Spring. I am just now starting to think on some things and even getting my hubby involved in the ideas. He seems to be good at woodworking, and art. So maybe, this will be a rough idea for a few items, then see where they go. Can't hurt.
Well, I hope everyone has a great year and sells and sells, and stays healthy and safe.
