New Line of crafts for business

I have not wrote here for a while. So I decided it was time to do so tonight. This past month I started a new line of distressed, shabby, cottage chic wall crosses. I buy the wood unfinished crosses from another source. I do not have a set up to do my own wood carvings. I have then started with the painting of either chalk paint or acrylic. It is easier to paint if the edges are sanded first. Then I design them in a different way. I took a few days of designing before I did each one. So far, I have done 4 and sold 1 that was custom made. I found a shop on Etsy that does great work on their cross wood cuts. So I will  most likely be using them in the future. Here is my latest creation. https://www.etsy.com/listing/226422261/green-wooden-wall-cross-sea-shells? On my Etsy page you will find other crosses I have done and you can ask for customization for your own. I will do the best to make one the way you wish.  I also have started to do the cottage/shabby look to frames, an...

Feb. 19th, 2015

I haven't wrote in my business blog for a while. So today I thought I would write as to what I have been up to. I never wanted to paint much through the years. However, lately I realised that I have to start doing something different to sell that I worked on myself. I decided to start doing Shabby Cottage Chic items. It might be frames, pictures, crosses, etcc. I also am going to work on a Beach Cottage type decor too with stones, shells, etc.. I just have to figure out the things I plan on doing. I am saving up tin cans and have looked through tons of ideas, but I want my own., One that no one else has done. So then I will feel creative. I have been not working as a Nursing assistant for 5 years now, and sometimes I wish I could work again. But, physically it is too much for me now a days. Some days I have trouble walking, pain gets to me, sometimes my eyes are totally messed up from the glaucoma, but not all the time. It is hard to do what I want to do, but I keep going. I have t...

Happy New Year to all the folks who read my blog. I am sorry so late to tell you this. Just the New Year started out busy with new stuff to list for the business, and my son off to college for his second semester. He is not too happy about his speech class, but I am hoping he gets out of of his shyness in this so he can get a job in the future, easier. He loves his art class and is going to do well with it so far.  I started to work at trying to get healthier for the new years, and stopped drinking diet cola. Not an easy task to go cold turkey from right after Christmas until now, but so far so good.  I am thinking about doing primitive home decor for a new idea for this Spring. I am just now starting to think on some things and even getting my hubby involved in the ideas. He seems to be good at woodworking, and art. So maybe, this will be a rough idea for a few items, then see where they go. Can't hurt. Well, I hope everyone has a great year and sells and sells, and st...

The eyes are bad but the sales are good

Today is December 11th, and the sales for this Christmas has been much better than last year or 2. I have had enough to buy Christmas then for my husband and my son will be too. dannysdepot is doing better than thought on Etsy. He has had 2 sales in 1 week. Been going for 21 days on Etsy. I was on Etsy 2 months before we got sales. I am thinking, maybe because it is a guy, or the name is more understandable than Streetcrossing. I know that would be a shop name you would wonder, What? Well, I am a Christian, and my last name is Street, so I did Streetcrossing. Not thinking this will not work that well for my shop on Etsy. All in all, things will get better. I have faith that I will be very blessed. My eyes are acting up even more than before, but I have to keep trudging along. I have to use a magnifying glass a great deal with items and what it says on the bottom or a book. But, I am hanging in there. God is truly good.

End of November 2014, shopping is here

He has 3 items in his shops that he made himself, the rest are vintage. He is almost 20 and is in college. He is planning on going into Art classes in January at the college. As we start a new Christmas season please look to my blog for more items and savings. Thanks everyone. https://www.etsy.com/shop/dannysdepot

Thanksgiving

As I sit here and want to complain about the weather, my age, my hurts and pains, depression, and so on. I also have to try to realize that God is in control of everything and no matter how hard life is, I have to allow God to take control and depend and trust in his guidance, mercy, and love.  As I watch Isis and Russia playing their dreadful war games, we have to realize that only God can fix what is wrong with the world. I am thankful to be living in a quiet house, town, street, and basically life. I could not imagine what the people who lost everything is feeling like. The ones who had a home one day, but war took it away the next. Little children walking the streets, hungry, sore, dirty, and alone. As I go about my daily business with Etsy, eBay, and Bonanza. I ask why God am I not selling anything? When actually,  I should be thankful for the home, health, food, clothing, money, and life that I now have that at one time I didn't. I am thankful I am not homeless, living...
